The legends surrounding this rocky outcrop add to the charm of this perfect swimming spot.
Santa Maria & other Caves, Comino
Comino’s geological formation is made up of caves along its coast. These limestone caves and grottos have played an essential part in Comino’s history. The island was considered a pirate hideout as it was the ideal spot where Corsair vessels and crafts could hide behind the rocky outcrops and enter the tunnels and the caverns of these caves. In fact, on Comino, one can still see the coastal tower that was eventually erected to guard the island. Today, these caverns, arches and chambers that nature has hacked out and eroded via the waves are sought after by adventure seekers. The best way to explore them is on small boats; only smaller vessels can enter these sea caves.
Santa Maria Bay, Comino

San Niklaw Bay is a small picturesque inlet located on the northern coast of Comino. The scene of the sea lapping at the rocky shore tufted with patches of sandy spots in several places is rather charming. Ideal for snorkelling, diving and exploring the underwater world, Crystal Lagoon is a favourite among families and marine nature enthusiasts. This lagoon can only be accessed via private boat.
Blue Lagoon, Comino
